New leader in the SAPS
New leader in the SAPS
South Africa’s new national
commissioner of police, General Fannie Masemola is by all accounts a competent
career professional. When he took office on 1 April, Masemola was given an
opportunity to set the country on a new era.
Many people in South Africa have
lost trust in the South African police service due to pass experiences. People
are not be blamed for not trusting them because they have failed them and not
even once. Some have also start to think that the only way you can justice is
when you are highly connect or if you have the financial means to pay people to
do their job or to go around it.
Over the years people have seen crimes been committed in parliament and outside the parliament with few arrest being made or none at times. This has made it hard or impossible to trust and believe our leader for protect or anything like that because they also do crimes. Sometimes the only way to get justice in this country is when people take law into their own hands.
It is sad to see that people are
also not even afraid to take law into their own hands and do not mine the
consequences that might come. SAPS will have to work hard and timeless to make
sure the win the trust of the public because it will be very hard to govern the
country if the crime rates keeps on increase and with less effort from them.
